This week, the week of August 25, the MEGA supermarket in San Miguel de Allende started putting out Christmas merchandise. Considering Mexicans go on celebrating until January 6, this may be the longest holiday season in the Christian world.

And I should be happy. After all, I am the guy who dislikes corralling the incarnation into one day. I have always promoted celebrating Christmas in June. I claim it is for theological consistency. It is likely just another example of my perverse nature.

I posted photos on my FB page. I am horrified…. ALL OF THIS FOR ONE DAY OF THE YEAR.. like you said in Mexico they do drag it out … but I don't think their celebrations include snowmen and Santa Clauses.. at least it didn't USE to… sigh!

I was in Celaya a couple of weeks ago and shook by head in disbelief that Walmart and Costco had all manner of Christmas stuff for sale. Egads!
